The President’s budget plan

Listen

Guests: Sam Stein, Mark Thompson and Tom Curry

President Obama sent a record $4 trillion budget to Congress yesterday. It’s a huge wish list that includes increased government spending on infrastructure, defense, and education and includes pay raises for government workers and troops. He’s also proposed tax cuts for middle class families and tax increases on wealthy Americans, along with a one-time 14% tax on corporations’ overseas earnings. And now the fun begins as the GOP-controlled Congress considers the President’s budget plan. Joining us to unpack the politics and proposals are SAM STEIN, senior politics editor at the Huffington Post, MARK THOMPSON, who covers national and security and the military for TIME magazine, and TOM CURRY who writes about transportation policy for CQ Roll Call.
