The Paris climate talks: the skinny on COP21 as international negotiations wind down

The international climate talks in Paris – comprised of about 40,000 attendees and over 100 heads of government – are coming to an end after two weeks of negotiations. Many observers have hoped that these meetings will yield the most significant international climate agreement to date, but developing and developed nations are still wrangling over emissions limits and how to relegate the global bill for global warming. Questions have been raised about the ambition of the final draft agreement from the conference, as well as some of its key points including how much temperatures should be allowed to increase. In this hour of Radio Times, we’ll hear from ANDY REVKIN, the author of the Dot Earth blog for The New York Times, and REBECCA LEBER of the New Republic, where she writes on politics and policy, about the negotiations at COP21 – their successes, their failures, and whether or not they will impact international environmental planning and policy and the future of our planet.
