    Hour 2

Do you have a favorite concert — a live performance from a band that just blew you away and that you’ll never forget?  Summer is a great time to hear your favorite band – there are some big acts touring and some great outdoor musical festivals happening around the country and in our region.  But sometimes getting tickets to these shows can be a challenge and can cost a fortune.  This hour, we’re going to look at the live concert industry and find out how the bands, the fans, and the promoters are doing.  We’ll also talk about the history of the concert business, find out what makes a great show.  Guest host Maiken Scott talks with JOSH BARON, editor-in-chief of Relix magazine, a live music magazine and the co-author of “Ticket Masters: The Rise of the Concert Industry and how the Public Got Scalped,” and SEAN AGNEW, founder of R5 Productions, an independent Philadelphia show promotion agency.  We’ll also hear from the Regional President of Live Nation, GEOFF GORDON about what it’s like to put on a really big show.
