The Iraq Lie

Listen

Guest: Joseph Hoeffel

In October 2002, then-Congressman Joseph Hoeffel of Pennsylvania was a part of the Congressional delegation to the White House, sent to attend a briefing on why the US should go to war with Iraq.  The Congressman would eventually vote to give President Bush the authority to go to war; a decision he now regrets. In his new book, The Iraq Lie: How the White House Sold the War, JOSEPH HOEFFEL details the ways in which George W. Bush and his administration misled Congress, and the public, in order to gain the authority to invade Iraq.  He joins us this hour to discuss the book, and why he wrote it.
