Snowden: political and legal fallout

The National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden has requested asylum from 21 countries but only Bolivia and Venezuela said they would consider it. The U.S. government has revoked Snowden’s passport and is charging him with espionage for stealing and leaking classified documents.  The leaks and the hunt for Snowden have led to some difficult diplomacy for the Obama administration and public debate continues over whether the young contractor is a hero or traitor.  This hour, we get an update on the case and the legal and political issues it raises about national security, secrecy and whistleblowing.  Marty talks to SCOTT SHANE, national security reporter for the New York Times then RAHUL SAGAR, political science professor at Princeton University and author of the forthcoming Secrets and Leaks: The Dilemma of State Secrecy.
