On this week’s Regional Roundup: We’ll get an explainer on Pennsylvania’s gun laws, as well as the ongoing legal battles to expand them statewide. SARAH ANNE HUGHES, associate editor at the Pennsylvania Capital-Star joins us. Then, one of New Jersey Governor’s campaign promises was to rid the state of the PARCC standardized test. We’ll discuss how successful he’s been in achieving this goal, as well as the state’s approach to the Obama-era Common Core curriculum. Mary’s guest is Drew University education and public policy professor PATRICK McGUINN. We’ll also hear from Philadelphia-based poet AMY SAUL-ZERBY about her online magazine and podcast “Voicemail Poems,” in which poets submit recorded readings of their works via voicemail.
