Philadelphia’s District Attorney LARRY KRASNER has garnered a lot of attention since assuming office in January, not just locally but nationally as well, being deemed the most progressive D.A. in the country. In his time in office he has instituted a number of broad reforms – he fired much of the holdovers from the prior D.A.’s administration, published the names of police officers he sees as problematic, advocated for safe injection sites, ending stop and frisk, and cash bail reform. Lately, his most scrutinized move was not seeking the death penalty in a plea deal for two men in the murder of a police officer. Today, Krasner joins us to talk about his litany of reforms, some of the critiques he is getting from the law enforcement community, and what his plans are for the coming years of his administration.
