Parenting Teens

Listen

Hour 2

The teenage years aren’t easy for anyone – not for kids or parents.  Teens face dating, driving, social networks, school and peer pressure, and they increasingly long for independence.  Many parents though are conflicted out their children growing up.  But pediatrician KENNETH GINSBURG says that it’s important for parents to take a step back if they want to raise confident and well-adjusted kids.  Ginsburg, an adolescent medicine specialist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has written a parent’s guidebook on the teenage years with journalist SUSAN FITZGERALD called Letting Go with Love and Confidence.  Guest host Tracey Matisak talks with Ginsburg and Fitzgerald about nurturing resiliency and self-sufficiency in our children.
