Pennsylvania’s dog law and canine cognition

Listen

Guests: Kristen Donmoyer, Daniel Mills

Pennsylvania has a new Dog Law Director. KRISTEN DONMOYER has been appointed to oversee dog welfare across the Keystone state, including those in its 2,200 kennels. Pennsylvania was once called the “puppy mill capital of the east” by animal advocates. So how are dogs doing across the state? Marty talks to Donmoyer about her new job and some of the challenges ahead. Then, leading animal behaviorist DANIEL MILLS comes in to talk about canine cognition and bond between dogs and humans. Mills is a Professor of Veterinary Behavioral Medicine at University of Lincoln in the United Kingdom.
