Hour 1

This week, President Obama has been on the road drumming up support for this $447 billion jobs bill but Thursday, House speaker John Boehner outlined the Republican plan to aid the ailing economy at the Economic Club, stressing the need to “liberate” it from too much regulation and taxation.  Also in the politics this week, GOP contenders sparred over social security, jobs, healthcare and immigration at a debate in Tampa.  Businessman Bob Turner scored a major Republican victory winning former Representative Anthony Weiner’s seat in a special election in New York‘s 9th district.  And former Obama administration official, Elizabeth Warren announced her run for the 2012 Massachusetts Senate seat currently held by Scott Brown.  We’ll talk about all this and more in our political news round-up with guests STEVE KORNACKI, news editor for Salon, and ROBERT COSTA, political reporter for National Review.
