National politics: Guns, fiscal cliff & more

Listen

In this week’s national news roundup, Marty chats with two Washington D.C.-based journalists about the big two topics dominating the national political discussion this week: the Newtown, CT, massacre and possible gun legislation in response, and the “fiscal cliff” negotiations that have us inching toward massive tax increases and spending cuts. We’ll also touch upon the prospects for a second-term Obama administration, from turnover in his cabinet to relations with Congress to what will and/or may be on his agenda. Joining us this week are JILL LAWRENCE, managing editor for politics and columnist for the National Journal, and SUSAN FERRECHIO, chief congressional correspondent for the Washington Examiner.
