The NASA Mars rover, Spirit, is being left in the dust.  NASA tried to contact the rover for the last time, but it’s time to move on and be thankful it lasted this long given the original prediction was 90 days of survival time. However,  its companion, Opportunity, is still cruising around collecting valuable information. There has always been a plan to send more sophisticated rovers to collect more data and eventually a manned landing on Mars will take place. Also, don’t miss what’s in the night sky this week and highlights in the summer sky. All this and more on this week’s Sky Talk.[audio: st20110530.mp3]
