Kate Bolick on “Spinster: Making a Life of One’s Own”

Listen 00:48:46

Guest: Kate Bolick

KATE BOLICK is single by choice. She always assumed she’d marry one day, but now she’s in her 40’s, living alone and happy with her life. She proudly calls herself a “spinster.” In fact, that’s the title of her new book, Spinster: Making a Life of One’s Own. It’s part memoir, part-history of single women like Edith Wharton and Edna St. Vincent Millay. She joins guest host Mary Cummings-Jordan to share her thoughtful perspectives and to challenge all the stereotypes about modern, never-married women.
