John Dean: The Nixon Defense

    Listen

    Guest: John Dean

Next week marks the 40th anniversary of Richard Nixon’s resignation from office following the Watergate scandal.  In recent years, thousands of hours of Nixon’s recorded conversations from the Oval Office have become available to the public.  JOHN DEAN, White House legal counsel to President Nixon from 1970-1973, has shifted through hundreds of these secret conversations and documents for his new book The Nixon Defense: What He Knew and When He Knew It.  Dean, who served a reduced prison sentence for testifying at the Watergate hearings, comes in to talk to Marty about what the tapes reveal about Nixon and the cover-up.
