James McPherson on Abraham Lincoln

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. We celebrate with Princeton University historian JAMES MCPHERSON. He has published numerous volumes on the Civil War, including “Battle Cry of Freedom” which won a Pulitzer Prize and “For Cause and Comrades: Why Men Fought in the Civil War” which won the Lincoln Prize. He won this year’s Lincoln Prize for the second time for his book “Tried by War: Abraham Lincoln as Commander in Chief.” And he’s here today to discuss his most recent book “Abraham Lincoln.”
