Turf war

The partial government shutdown is hitting our soldiers and airmen where it hurts, in their wallets. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Delaware National Guard is also being pinched by the sequester. In our First Look, we learn the sequester could actually be a good thing for the guard in the long run.

Coyotes among us

Halloween is around the corner and one thing scaring some Delaware farmers and others these days? Coyotes. The wild canines that once called the western U.S. home have expanded their territory, and that includes all three counties in Delaware. Now the state is working on regulations to allow hunting coyote, but some don’t think the proposals go far enough.

Cancer Motivation

While many people are familiar with breast cancer and the various awareness campaigns, the month of October still serves as a reminder for many of us to take action against it. For one local woman who’s a motivational speaker and now a breast cancer survivor, she approaches encouragement with passion whether it’s for someone recently diagnosed with the disease or just in need of that extra push to seek a doctor.

First Experience: The bark park

Dogs and people share the need to exercise. Both love to run, chase a ball or catch a frisbee. For dogs, there is a new place where they can do all that. The Glasgow Bark Park has been open for about two months now. From what we can tell, it’s a big hit. It’s also a First Experience that has gone to the dogs.
