Finding Yourself in the Physical and Spiritual

Listen 00:52:16

Have you ever had a transcendent experience, a moment so overpowering, it becomes difficult to explain? Or perhaps you’ve felt a strong calling that has changed the direction of your life. We’ll hear compelling personal stories as we look at the science and psychology that moves many of us to find our true calling. David Yaden is a researcher who studies these peak experiences at Penn’s positive psychology center.

Later, we visit with two yoga instructors, each using yoga as a way to reclaim broken lives. One, a former inmate, discovered yoga practice as way to help prisoners and veterans and created the Transformation Yoga Project. Another, responds to our relationship to food and eating disorders in a new book, Hunger, Hope and Healing.
