In the ten years since her first book was published when she was just 25, CHIMAMANDA NGOZI ADICHIE has won considerable praise, a MacArthur Genius Award, and numerous awards for her stories and novels. Adichie was born and raised in Nigeria in 1978, (she grew up in the house originally occupied by Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe), and, at the age of 19, came to live in Philadelphia where she studied communications at Drexel University for two years. Her new book, Americanah, goes on sale today in the U.S And like her previous books, Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun, and The Thing Around Your Neck, Americanah which is set in the U.S., London and Nigeria, explores the complicated issues of race, politics, war and love.
