Ballot Talks: Kasich, then #BlackLivesMatter and 2016

On this week’s edition of Ballot Talks: we take a look at the most recent Republican to enter the 2016 race, Ohio governor John Kasich. We’ll discuss his viability, his voting record, and the effect that his candidacy will have on the already-crowded GOP field, with MICHELLE EVERHART, assistant public affairs editor for The Columbus Dispatch, and JOSH VOORHEES, senior writer at Slate. Then, a recent forum called Netroots Nation saw Democratic presidential contenders coming face-to-face with protestors involved with the #BlackLivesMatter movement that seeks to end police brutality against African-Americans. We’ll discuss the confrontation, and discuss the effect that #BlackLivesMatter will have on the outcome of the 2016 election. We’re joined by The Washington Post’s JANELL ROSS, and by S.V.
