Ballot Talks: election mechanics and the political climate in Pa. & NJ

Listen 00:48:44

Guests: Dave Davies, Chris Borick, and Ben Dworkin

With the primary elections less than a month away in Pennsylvania and the real possibility that voters in the Keystone State will play a larger role in the presidential primary than they have in past contests, we’ll explore the state’s political climate. Guest host Mary Cummings-Jordan will discuss the primary’s importance, how the delegate and superdelegate system works, voter turnout, and the candidates for Senate and Attorney General with NewsWorks/WHYY’s own DAVE DAVIES and political scientist and pollster CHRIS BORICK of Muhlenberg College. Then we’ll discuss some important voter issues that’ll be on the ballot in New Jersey, the upcoming June primary in the Garden State, and any potential for presidential candidate Donald Trump to impact local GOP contests with BEN DWORKIN, the director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University.
