Guest: Anne-Marie Slaughter

In 2012, ANNE-MARIE SLAUGHTER penned an essay for The Atlantic“Why Women Still Can’t Have It All” – about the difficulties working women with children face while trying to advance in their profession and spend time at home. The piece generated a national conversation about family policy and the nature of work, and now she’s out with a new book, Unfinished Business: Women Men Work Family, that delves more deeply into some of the issues she raised. Slaughter explores the dilemmas that both men and women, as well as working class families, are posed with when it comes to making decisions about careers and simultaneously raising a family. We’ll speak with her about her book and how her perspective has shifted over the past few years.
