A more politically divided America

Listen

Guests: Brendan Nyhan and James Peterson

A new poll from the Pew Research Center found that over the last 20 years, Americans have become more divided over politics. Of greater concern is that the animosity and mistrust between those on both extremes – conservative and liberal – has become more intense. All of this makes compromise difficult when it comes to governing and legislating. In this hour of Radio Times we’ll ask how we got here, what it all means for voters and lawmakers and what can be done to unite a politically fractured nation. Our guests are Dartmouth University’s BRENDAN NYHAN and JAMES PETERSON of Lehigh University.
