Ban the Box

Eliminating the ‘Check here if you’ve been convicted of a crime’ box on job applications is the goal behind the ban the box bill, making its way through the General Assembly. State Representative J.J. Johnson of New Castle sponsored House Bill 167. In our First Look, we examine what Johnson calls a “foot in the door” bill.

Garden railroad

Preserving history

The Hagley Museum and Library is a big part of the fabric that makes up Delaware. There is a treasure trove of documents, books, and antique items on display. It takes a special group of people at the Hagley Conservation Lab to make sure those treasures survive for future generations.

Content Delaware

The Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington expects to serve 325,000 meals in 2014. Their mission has steadfastly remained the same over the years: serve the homeless and addicted through programs that take care of both physical and spiritual needs. Our content partner Content Delaware takes us on a trip to the mission.

First Experience: Mad about Red

February is all about red. There are those heart shaped boxes of candy, Cupid and roses by the dozen. Red is also considered an impact color. It is used to convey different emotions.
