Chang-rae Lee talks about his new novel, “On Such a Full Sea”

    Listen

    Guest: Chang-rae Lee

CHANG-RAE LEE’s new novel, On Such a Full Sea, paints a chilling picture of a future America. Environmental degradation has laid waste to the land. Big cities have been turned into labor colonies where workers raise food for the elite who live in fortified “charter” communities. Outside the colonies and Charters is a no-man’s land of disease, starvation and brutality. Lee has written four other novels, including Native Speaker and The Surrendered, and teaches writing at Princeton.  He comes in to talk to Marty about his new book and why he was drawn to a dystopian tale.
