The Beatles’ 50th anniversary on The Ed Sullivan Show

Guests: David Bianculli & Tom Moon

It was 50 years ago this week the Beatles taught America to play their music. They’ve never gone out of style and have kept their guarantee to keep us smiling. On February 9th, 1964 John, Paul, George and Ringo – the “youngsters from Liverpool” – appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and the world was never the same. We’ll listen to some of our favorite music from the Fab Four and discuss the band’s cultural influences with Fresh Air’s TV critic, DAVID BIANCULLI and music writer TOM MOON.
