Former covert CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson and her husband, Joe Wilson, a former diplomat to Iraq, will speak at the Kimmel Center on Monday, Nov. 28, as part of the Philadelphia Speakers Series.
Together, they will retrace the CIA leak controversy that ended Plame Wilson’s career as a spy and embroiled the couple in a political firestorm and a Justice Department investigation that exposed what some regard to this day as an act of treason.
They will share their views of the sequence of events from Ambassaror Wilson’s cricitism of the Bush administration’s use of intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraq, through the exposure of his wife’s status as a CIA agent, to the perjury conviction of “Scooter” Libby.
Tell us in the comments below what you would ask about that contentious time. We’ll relay your questions to WHYY’s Tracey Matisak, who will conduct the Q&A session with the couple following their presentation.
