Yard waste ban lifted for another week

Residents still have one more week to get rid of yard waste left by Hurricane Irene by leaving it at the curb.

The state Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) have lifted the ban on curb-side pickup of yard waste due to the volume of debris left by Hurricane Irene last weekend.

DNREC will also consider requests from residents to burn yard waste from the hurricane on a case-by-case basis.  The state is under an open burning ban until October 1.
