A small, international group of mayors will gather in Philadelphia as part of the World Meeting of Families at the end of September.

The 90-minute event is designed to examine how good governance can positively impact families worldwide, said Donna Farrell of the World Meeting of Families.

New Orleans Mayor Mitchell J. Landrieu; Puebla, Mexico, Mayor Jose Antonio Gali Fayad; and Rome’s Mayor Ignazio Marino will join Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter a LaSalle University’s Gola Arena for the panel discussion.

Nutter said Tuesday the idea “was discussed in Rome in 2014 at a meeting with the Pontifical Council on the Families with Archbishop Paglia. We’ve been talking about it ever since.”
