A woman who suffered burns when a dry docked boat ignited in Wildwood on Wednesday afternoon was airlifted to a hospital for treatment, officials say.

According to a Wildwood City Fire Department news release, arriving first responders to the scene on Leaming Avenue found the woman, who appeared to have jumped from the burning boat, with burns to both of her legs.

She was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Chester, Pennsylvania. Officials have not released her name or condition.

Firefighters upgraded the fire to a second alarm due to the fire extending to two adjacent boats and a dwelling, according to the news release.

But thanks for the efforts of numerous nearby fire departments, the dwelling sustained only minor damage.

The cause remains under investigation.
