Police: Woman jumps in water after throwing child in ocean in Atlantic City

A woman and a child were rescued after she allegedly threw the child into the ocean and then jumped in the water, according to police.
Police told NBC10 the unidentified woman threw the small child into the inlet at Pacific Avenue in Atlantic City Sunday and then jumped in the water.
A fisherman managed to rescue the child and pulled him or her out of the water. The woman was also rescued and taken to the Coast Guard.
The child is currently recovering at the hospital. Police have not yet revealed the child’s age or condition. They also have not yet revealed the child’s relationship with the woman.
