Woman found dead in frigid home; low temps delay schools

The cold snap that has enveloped the state may have contributed to the death of a woman in Philadelphia, and continues to delay classes across western Pennsylvania.

Police in Philadelphia say they found a 64-year-old woman dead Thursday in a home where the indoor temperature was 10 degrees. The cause of death is pending.

In western Pennsylvania, more than 300 schools or districts delayed classes Friday as temperatures hovered around 20 degrees in Pittsburgh.

More frigid weather is on the horizon. The National Weather Service advises that wind chills will drop to 20-below late Friday into Saturday near Pittsburgh.
