Falls of Schuylkill Library’s Winter Interlude set for March 2

The Friends of Falls of Schuylkill Library will hold its Winter Interlude party, an important library fundraiser, on Saturday, March 2.

The entire community is invited to the event, which runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the East Falls Library on Midvale Avenue.

Each year, the event is designed to help residents avoid the winter doldrums and join friends and neighbors at the neighborhood library for lively conversation, wine and champagne, desserts, live music by Richard Harner Jazz and a silent auction.

Those interested in attending can make a reservation by dropping off a check, payable to Friends of Falls Library, at the library or by mailing a check to Falls of Schuylkill Library, 3501 Midvale Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa., 19129.

Tickets are $15 per person if purchased by 5 p.m. Feb. 28 and $20 per person at the door.

Do you have a talent, skill, or access to tickets or gift certificates that you would be willing to donate to the evening’s silent auction? The group is seeking services and gift certificates, rather than “items” as display space is limited. Garden consultant? Quilting lesson? Tutor? Tech support? Be imaginative! Every donation is appreciated. To donate an auction item, contact Wendy Moody at wmoodyw@aol.com or 215-848-5131.

For more information, please contact Ellie Schleicher, Event Chair (schleich@comcast.net, 215-848-5279) or Linda Koons, Friends’ President (lcbkoons@verizon.net, 215-848-3185).
