Wilmington launches green jobs program for teens

Teens join environmental groups in Wilmington for jobs program.
The city has partnered with seven groups for a Green Jobs Program that will employ eight teens through the summer. The kids will earn minimum wage for 25 hours a week. The first job this summer, removing invasive plants at the DuPont Environmental Education Center. Other work will include improving trails, maintaining trees, and sprucing up parks.

Recruiting for next summer’s Green Jobs Program will begin in February 2012. Applications are available at the City of Wilmington Department of Parks and Recreation.
