Why the royal wedding could be a healthy distraction

Chances are you have one or two thoughts about the upcoming nuptials of Britain’s Prince William: You’ll be parked in front of the TV when wedding coverage begins at 4 a.m. Friday, or you’ll be avoiding the lovey-doviness entirely.

NewsWorks blogger Jan Ting explains why the royal wedding is something we could all stand to pay attention to — even just a little bit.
Aside from the historical significance and a chance to witness some romance, Jan thinks we could all really use a break. Varying crises in the Middle East, Japan and home turf are wearing us down. So go ahead and keep cable news on in the background Friday, but don’t be afraid to indulge in something a little lighter.
