Where to find egg hunts and the Easter Bunny in NW Philly this year

Ready for this year’s Easter celebrations but not sure where to go? Here’s a round-up of activities taking place in the Northwest for the community to enjoy. 

 

The Easter Bunny hops into O’Doodles Toy Store

On March 23, the Easter Bunny will available for pictures at O’Doodles Toy Store from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.Professional photography will be provided by Becky Leatherman Adams.

The event costs $10 per session. Digital images will be emailed and one 5 by 7 photo will be available the following week at the toy store located at 8532 Germantown Ave.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Kinney Center for Autism at St. Joseph’s University.

The Easter Bunny snuggles up to four-legged friends at Bone Appetite

On March 23, the Easter Bunny will be available for pictures at Bone Appetite, 8517 Germantown Ave., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A $10 donation is required for this event. Proceeds will benefit the Philadelphia Greyhound Connection, Inc., a nonprofit group that assists in re-domesticating retired racing greyhound dogs.

Natural Egg Dyeing at Stenton

On March 30, Stenton will host its annual Easter egg hunt in the museum’s garden at 1 p.m.

Attendees will be able fill their baskets with eggs and chocolate goodies. They will also be able learn about the historic use of natural dyes made from flowers, vegetables, and animal products, while dyeing eggs that are provided.

There will also be games and crafts for children of all ages.

Basket Decorating and Easter Egg Hunt at Awbury Arboretum

On March 30, Awbury Arboretum will host its annual free Easter Egg Hunt at 12:30 p.m.

The day’s activities will also include a basket decorating workshop with Vivian Rowe, owner of Zahra’s Floral Studio. Rowe will guide attendees though basket decorating with spring leave, flowers and bows. The basket decorating workshop will begin at 10:30 a.m. and costs $6 per person.

Easter Egg Hunt at Gorgas Park

On March 30, there will be a community Easter Egg Hunr at Gorgas Park at 10 a.m.

The event will be held every 10 minutes for kids between the ages of 1 and 10 and will include 35,000 eggs filled with candy, stickers and other surprises.

The event will also include a petting zoo, balloon animals, face painting and pictures with the Easter Bunny.

To participate, children must be accompanied by a parent. Registration is also required at Phillyegghunt.com. Registration will also enter participants a chance to win a $200 shopping spree at Toys”R”Us.

This event is sponsored by Epic Church located in Manayunk and Center City.
