What the Barnes?
Nancy and Walter Herman’s property has been vandalized nearly 600 times. The Main Line couple says signs on their lawn supporting the preservation of the Barnes Foundation have gone missing and been stolen over the years.
A report from the Main Line Times says the attack that occurred last week left paint on the signs, covering the faces of eight artists featured in the Barnes galleries.
The Merion-based foundation will soon move to Philadelphia’s Ben Franklin Parkway, much to the dismay of the Hermans and others in the Friends of the Barnes Foundation group.
Walter Herman says to date, about 590 signs have been removed from the couple’s property.
