What are sex surrogates?

    The independent film “The Sessions” starring John Hawkes and Helen Hunt is bringing a lot of attention to the issue of “sex surrogates” therapists who help clients overcome issues around intimacy.

    “The Sessions” is a film based on the life of poet and writer Mark O’Brien who was paralyzed from the neck down because of polio. He hired a sex surrogate to lose his virginity at age 38.
