Whales put on a show for Monmouth County beachgoers over the holiday weekend.
JSHN contributors captured images of breaching whales off Sea Bright and Asbury Park.
According to the Brigantine-based Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC), the images are of humpback whales.
“There are quite a few of them in the area, which is common this time of year,” said Danielle Brown, a MMSC field stranding technician.
