Wednesday night will mark the start of a weekly “Oldies in the Park” series at Vernon Park in central Germantown.

On Wednesdays between now and Aug. 28, residents “are encouraged to bring a chair and attend this free event to enjoy old school music in the park,” according to a release from Eighth District City Councilwoman Cindy Bass office.

Bass’ office is sponsoring the series along with 3rd Floor Media, Germantown Restoration CDC, the Black Writers Museum and state Rep. Stephen Kinsey.
