Weekend News Briefs: 10/22 – 10/24

Friday — Sean Hagan, 17, was sentenced last week to 80 hours of community service. Hagan is better known by most as Red Man, the teenager who ran onto the field wearing a red bodysuit during a Phillies game last month. The Parkwood teen pleaded guilty to the charges and apologized.

Surveillance video of last week’s jewelry story robbery in Lawncrest has been released. Store owner William Glazt died of gunshot wounds, as did one of the suspects, escaped prisoner Kevin Turner. Police are still looking for the second suspect.

Sunday — A single-car accident early Sunday morning left one dead and one seriously injured. A vehicle was traveling east on Norcom Road when it struck a tree near the Red Lion Road curve and burst into flames. The driver died at the scene, and a passenger remains in critical condition after severing a leg below the knee. There is no word on the cause of the crash.
