Weekend News Briefs: 10/1 – 10/3

Friday — The Frankford Gazette has photos and video from Friday’s Unlitter Us rally at Frankford Avenue and Pratt Street.

Sunday — A 28-year-old man was stabbed around midnight Sunday on the Market-Frankford El. The victim was stabbed at the Margaret-Orthodox Station, but rode the El westbound to Allegheny Avenue where he was found to have minor injuries.

Police are searching for three suspects who robbed a 7-Eleven and fired shots at police early Sunday morning.

Around 2 a.m., police encountered three men trying to rob the 7-Eleven near Bustleton Avenue and Welsh Road.  The men fired shots at police from inside the store, and police returned fire from the parking lot, and chased the suspects, who fled down Welsh Road.

Authorities recovered a gun, but have not located any of the suspects, whom they believe are responsible for two additional robberies overnight.
