Saturday:

If music is more your style, rock out at the Kids’ Concert at The Commodore Barry Club in Mt. Airy.  The Cooperative Nursery School is planning an afternoon of fun with tunes from The Princes of Babylon, kids activities, entertainment, a raffle, and food.  Doors open Saturday at 1pm, music starts at 1:30 and goes until 4pm.  Tickets are $8/individual, $20/family in advance through www.cooperativenurseryschool.org, or purchase for $10/$25 at the door the day of the event.  Proceeds go towards the school’s scholarship fund.

Feeling adventurous?  Or just wanting a sweet treat?  Head over to Bredenbeck’s Bakery in Chestnut Hill, where the Cake Spy will be signing her new cookbook, “Sweet Treats for a Sugar-Filled Life.”  Visitors will be offered free samples of fall goodies: Caramel Apple Cheesecake, new Pumpkin Harvest Cupcakes, and milkshakes blended with an entire slice of Apple Crumb Pie!  While you’re there, spin “The Wheel of Bredenbeck’s” for some sweet prizes too.  1-3pm.  http://www.bredenbecks.com/blog/9/CakeSpy

Sunday:

Thinking of joining the Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill babysitting co-op? Then take the first step and attend the co-op social this Sunday from 10:30am-12pm at the High Point Coffee Shop at Allen’s Lane.  Meet current co-op members, learn all about the process of joining, and enjoy the company of neighbors you haven’t met!

Running All Weekend:

Looks like it will be gorgeous weather for a ‘worth-the-drive’ trip out to the Tyler Arboretum in Media.  This is one of the last three weekends to check out the Arboretum’s Totally Terrific Treehouses exhibit which closes for the season on November 27.  Insider tip: the trek through the treehouses is a really fun way to tire kids out. The Treehouses were a HUGE hit with our crew of 3-12 year olds.  You can check out the GAP review from last summer here.  Exhibits included with regular admission or membership.
