The Year in Review in videos

Dec. 28

What a full year.

When the PlanPhilly staff decided to try to present the highlights of 2009 in a short video we forgot how much had happened around the built environment in Philadelphia.

So we went to the film archives and began reviewing PlanPhilly video work, literally hundreds of hours of coverage that included all the Zoning Code Commission and Planning Commission meetings, as well as Delaware River Waterfront Commission news, preservation stories, casino events, bloging from the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, plenty of opinion and commentary … and a lot more.

Please kick back and enjoy the 15-minute compilation. We didn’t include everything that was recorded but these are some of our favorite highlights. If you think we missed something especially significant, give me an email shout-out.

And, lastly, a hearty thank you to the planners, developers, politicans, concerned citizens, academics, preservationists, architects, real estate attorneys and archaelogists we covered in 2009.

So, happy New Year from the PlanPhilly reporting team: Kellie Patrick Gates (The Waterfront); Tom Walsh (Planning and Zoning); Alan Jaffe (Preservation); Anthony Campisi (Transportation); Steve Ujifusa (SS United States); JoAnn Greco (Design). Here’s to another newsy year in 2010.
