A wave pool is among new attractions that will open in Seaside Heights next summer.

As a component of major renovations at the Breakwater Beach water park, the wave pool will simulate ocean swimming with artificially generated waves, according to Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach spokeswoman Maria Mastoris.

The park is also adding two slides and will integrate the wave pool with the waterfall area of a new multi-level, 36-hole miniature golf course, she said.

Other attractions include an expanded go-kart track and a new “drop tower” on Casino Pier.

Casino Pier management is working with state and local authorities to obtain approvals for an expansion of the northern end of the pier, according to the spokeswoman.

“The new expansion will incorporate the area for a new roller coaster as well as a ferris wheel and is in the planning stages for a 2016 opening,” Mastoris said.
