VP Biden stumps for Del. Democrats

Vice President Joe Biden came home Monday on the eve of the midterm elections to rally Democrats to get out and vote.

“It’s good to be home, it’s good to be back in Wilmington,” Biden told a crowd of about 300 people in downtown Wilmington. “I’m Joe Biden, I’m Beau Biden’s father.”

But the elder Biden was in town to stump for all of Delaware’s Democrats, most notably U.S. Senate candidate Chris Coons and congressional candidate John Carney.

Coons is running against Christine O’Donnell while Carney is being challenged by Glen Urquhart.

Biden expressed confidence that Democrats can hold on to the Senate seat he held for more than 30 years before being elected vice president, and grab Delaware’s lone U.S. House seat from the Republicans.
