Vintage baseball team plays ball like it’s 1864

Imagine playing baseball in a 100-percent wool uniform in the blistering summer heat. Add to that some 1864 season rules of the National Association of Baseball Players and you have yourself a game of vintage baseball.

It’s something the members of The Philadelphia Athletics Vintage Baseball team take great pride in.

They recruit players from all over the city to play baseball like teams did in the 19th century.

Scott Adler, one of the founders of the team, shows NewsWorks how baseball is supposed to be played – that means out with the gloves and in with the wool.
