Villanova man suspected of bribing a Philadelphia official
A Villanova man has been indicted following an investigation by the Philadelphia Office of the Inspector General and the FBI.
Daniel Apokorin, 60, is suspected of working with several co-conspirators to present $5,000 cash to a city official in exchange for the guaranteed acquisition of a property on the 7100-block of James Street in Tacony, according to a release sent late yesterday by the OIG.
After the city official reported the bribery, Apokorin then allegedly tried to give an additional $5,000 to an FBI agent posing as a city official.
Inspector General Amy Kurland calls the case an example of “honest public servants for standing up against corruption.”
