State officials will host a pair of meetings this week to discuss possible changes to the Delaware Victims Compensation Assistance Program.
Currently, the state pays 80% of the billed amount of hospital bills for crime victims whose expenses are not covered by insurance. The state is proposing changing that formula to pay for 80% of the customary charges for services, instead of 80% of the billed amount. The change is designed extend the life of the program.
