Vandals destroy high-end birdhouses worth over $40,000

A Delaware birdhouse artist says vandals have destroyed six of his high-end, hand-crafted birdhouses.
The News Journal reports Wilmington resident Thomas Burke’s birdhouses were destroyed along the city’s riverfront Monday night. Burke says vandals knocked the houses off their perches and proceeded to beat them. He told the News Journal Tuesday night that he is currently in the process of filing a police report.
The birdhouses depicted homes from Andrew Wyeth paintings, famous residences and sprawling clubhouses. One of the birdhouses depicted the Augusta National Clubhouse, home of the annual Master’s Tournament. Burke says he once spoke with Tiger Woods about it.
Burke says the birdhouses were worth an estimated $46,000. He is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to finding the vandals.
