Unwanted Rx drugs? Tri-state area drop-off locations set up today

    Municipalities across the area are taking part in the fifth annual Prescription Drug Take Back Day, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. today, Sat., Sept. 29.

    The Drug Enforcement Agency, in cooperation with local and state officials are asking the public to “bring their unwanted or unused prescription drugs to local drop off sites across the state,” reports theAssociated Press.

    A previous event, held this past April netted 276 tons of unwanted or expired prescription drugs, nationwide.

    According to ABC6 the drugs will then be taken to an incinerator and burned.
